Swedish Producer Hellberg Drops “Synchronize” On Monstercat Records

A star that continues to shine bright no matter what gets thrown in it’s path is how I would describe Hellberg. He keeps his head up and mind focused on the music. A certain mouse and a Prydz departed from the Proximity x Spotify party during Miami Music Week and Hellberg had to take over with the help of Dutchman Don Diablo. Hellberg stepped up and knocked it out of the park. Knowing this was his first show in North America, he couldn’t of had a better debut if he tried. A beautiful moment in his career that he will tell his kids some day. His single “Synchronize” is out now via Monstercat. You need to grab it for your collection because it is fire.

Notaker’s “Infinite” Will Jump-Start Your Journey To Space

Imagine staring out into space and just looking at the stars with awe and wonder, thinking of all the other worlds that are out there. Next, imagine what kind of music you would add to this journey of thought that you are on. Well if you are struggling a bit to find the perfect piece of music Notaker is here to help with his latest original “Infinite.”

Starting out with a wondrous and ominous buildup and slowing descending into a breakdown with harder but uplifting chords, the first drop finally comes which is minimal but gives you the effect of launching into space. Then as the song continues to progress the elements he throws into the song continue to add to the wonder and veneration of the journey he is taking you on. Finally comes the last drop after building up the to moment which is even more uplifting and gives a trans-dimensional feeling, one that truly makes you feel as if you have broken through the atmosphere and have reached the cosmos. This song plays more as a story than a piece of music. The progression through the song through additions and omissions of sounds and going from hard from the first drop to a softer and more melodic final drop tells the story of traveling through space in a great way.

“Infinite” is out now via Monstercat who has really found a gem in this one from Notaker. There hasn’t been a song like this to take the listener on a musical journey in quite some time, at least one that I can recall. It brings you back to the sounds of Deadmau5 or Eric Prydz who are probably the best producers in the aspect of taking the listener on a journey, or tell a story, through their music. So sit back, relax, and let Notaker take you on an “Infinite” ride.

Marshmello Makes His Monstercat Debut With “Alone”

Our favorite mystery producer and campfire buddy Marshmello is back and this time he is making his debut on Monstercat. Out today is his new original “Alone.” Like a lot of his other songs, “Alone” starts off with an upbeat melody and then descends into a fun drop featuring his unique trap sound. Throughout the song you can find bouncey synths, a futuristic sounding melody with chopped up lyrics, trap snares and a hammering bassline. The lyrics seem a little bleak, singing of someone who is lost and trying to find their way back home but the overall vibe of the song is cheerful, so there may be hope for our lost singer.

“Alone” is now available for purchase or you can stream in full below. Marshmello is continuing to prove that the hype surrounding him is warranted, so help out our friend by supporting this one so he doesn’t feel alone any longer. If you ever need a pal Marshmello, you can always turn to your new Monstercat family or us here at TSS! We will always be here to support you and your ventures!

The New Pegboard Nerds and MIU Will Be Your Secret Weapon

Coming off of their “Superstar” collab with NGHTMRE and Krewella, Pegboard Nerds are back with another collab, this time with Norway’s MIU for “Weaponize.” The song features Pegboard Nerds hard bass style and edgy dubstep sound mixed with MIU’s glitchy, fantasy sound. MIU is also no stranger to these guys, the producer has remixed the group numerous times over the past year. The buildup on “Weaponize” starts out melodic where you hear MIU’s style and then descends into a maddening, floor-shaking drop. The two styles of each of the producers compliments each other well and it is nice to see these fellow Norwegian’s get together to make this song.

“Weaponize” is out now via Monstercat who is also no stranger to Pegboard Nerds. The label stays loyal to their own and have a good one on their hands from these guys. So grab “Weaponize” now and prepare to gear up for your next outing.

Vicetone has been a household name in the progressive and electro house world for years now. Their grade A production and catchy beats have helped them ensure that they remain a player at the top. In their new original “Nevada” featuring Cozi Zuehlsdorff they showcase their talents and show us all why and how they are on top.

Right-off-the-bat you can hear that there will be a lot of emotion in this song as soft key strokes descend on the audience and Cozi’s warm voice hits our ears. The song keeps on this route until the drop where the duo throws out a progressive house drop taking us back to their roots but mixed with today’s more bass-laden synths showing that they can incorporate both the old and the new. The edginess of the track along with its upbeat feeling captures Vicetone’s sound perfectly.

“Nevada” is out now via the duo’s longtime partner Monstercat, who signed their first label release “Harmony” four years ago. This track is an all-around nod to the past for the Dutchmen. By both releasing it through Monstercat and the reminiscent soundings of their first original “California.” It is a nice feeling to see how these guys have remained in touch with their beginnings and have stayed true to their sound while also evolving with the times. So grab “Nevada” now and get ready to dance to the rhythms brought to you by Vicetone.

Monstercat Celebrates Their Five Year Anniversary

Few labels have branched out and departed from the mainstream as much as Monstercat has since its launch five years ago. The Canadian record label has expanded and adapted with the times and has been a solid representation of the ever-changing times which is required to survive in today’s music industry. Labels today have to be much more than just an outlet for releasing music, they have to connect with the fans in new and innovative ways and that is what Monstercat has been able to do. They hold an event series at gaming conventions called AFK, they have a 24/7 Twitch radio station, and host unique initiatives such as their ‘connect’ feature which lets users host the label’s music without fear of getting ‘strikes’ against their page. This has culminated into tremendous success for this independent record label which has just celebrated its fifth anniversary.

Over the past couple of weeks, to celebrate and to reward the fans, new and old, they have been releasing free music for us all to download as a compilation album. The album features some of the label’s hottest artists such as Pegboard Nerds, Noisestorm, Stonebank, and more. In total there are 10 songs on there and all live up to the label’s massive hype. It blends together the sounds that the label has been pushing for years now and what they want going forward. It shows how the label has evolved with their sound.

To close off the celebration the label released a mashup video from Didrick, such as they did to celebrate their third anniversary. Didrick provides the energy we are all looking for for such a celebration. It really embodies what Monstercat is all about and highlights the great music that they have released.

Going forward Monstercat is launching what they are calling Monstercat 2.0. This is not them throwing away their past or departing from it, but rather evolving with the times. This new platform will include revamping ‘connect,’ more AFK and label showcases, and encouraging their artists to continue to branch out and try new things. The team over at Monstercat is really looking to push the boundaries of the electronic music scene and giving their fans and listeners the best experience as possible. We are living in exciting times here in terms of the diversity of music that is out there and the ease in digesting all of it. Monstercat is certainly embracing all of that and we are excited to see what the next five years holds for them!

Candyland And Shoffy Team Up For Their Monstercat Debuts

Southern California products Candyland and Shoffy have teamed up to make their debut on Monstercat with new original “Faces.” The track starts out as a slow love ballad infused with future bass and an R&B feel to it. This then leads into an unexpected drop where the bass picks up and house synths come alive. After that the cycle starts again, going from an R&B ballad to the wonky drop.

Candyland had been relatively silent for the better part of 2016 and released this statement prior to the release of this song.
